GARP's standard — and final — registration deadline for the November 2026 FRM Exam is September 30, 2026, at the USD 800 fee per part. Early registration (USD 600) already closed July 31, and there is no registration window after September 30 for this sitting, so this is the last chance to sit in November. New candidates also pay a one-time USD 400 enrollment fee when registering for Part I.
Part I is scheduled November 14–20 and Part II November 21–25, 2026. Register and book your exam appointment now — payment must reach GARP by 11:59 PM ET on September 30 to count.

FRM 2026 Syllabus Update: What Changed from 2025
The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) has finalized its curriculum updates for the FRM Exam 2026 cycle, applicable across all three exam windows — May, August, and November. As with most years, GARP kept Part I stable while concentrating change in Part II.
Part I: Minimal Change Out of 62 total chapters, none were added or removed. The only edits were wording-level revisions to two Quantitative Analysis topics: Hypothesis Testing (1 Learning Outcome Statement revised) and Stationary Time Series (5 LOS revised), with verbs expanded to emphasize calculation and application rather than pure conceptual recall. Candidates can safely begin with 2025 Part I materials, layering in a review of these two topics once updated books are available.
Part II: Substantial Revision Part II saw 12 new chapters added and 9 removed, with total required readings rising from 104 to 107. The heaviest overhaul hit Investment Risk, which added seven new chapters covering private market investing, hedge fund risk management, and distress-signal identification in alternative investments — while removing three older chapters, including two large ones with 8–10 LOS each. The Current Issues section, which GARP revises almost every year, was rebuilt to reflect AI in risk management, model validation, and systemic risk. Market, Credit, and Operational Risk saw only minor adjustments, and Liquidity & Treasury Risk remained largely stable. Illiquid Assets was also reassigned, moving into Book 5 (Risk Management and Investment Management).
Bottom line: Part I candidates can prep now with minimal risk of using outdated material. Part II candidates — especially those studying Investment Risk or Current Issues — should wait for or cross-check 2026-updated materials before relying on older prep books.

Can you still register for November 2026?

How the FRM exam is structured
The FRM is a two-part, multiple-choice exam. Part 1 has 100 questions covering the foundations of risk management, quantitative analysis, financial markets and products, and valuation and risk models. Part 2 has 80 questions covering market, credit, operational and integrated risk management, treasury and liquidity risk, and current financial-market issues. Your Part 2 result is only graded once you have passed Part 1.
Final-weeks prep plan
- Drill practice questions under timed conditions: the FRM rewards accuracy at speed across a wide syllabus.
- Prioritise the higher-weighted topics in each part rather than trying to master everything equally.
- Sit at least one full timed mock per part, then review every miss.
- Schedule your exam appointment before the 24 October deadline to secure your preferred date and centre.

GARP delivers the FRM exam through test-centre providers, and Pearson VUE is not one of them. On its FRM exam logistics page, GARP states that all other candidates must schedule through the provider PSI.
Which provider applies to you
- China Mainland, Hong Kong SAR China and Thailand: schedule via ATA.
- Everywhere else: schedule via PSI.
Why candidates get this wrong
Several other finance certifications do run through Pearson VUE, so candidates carrying over habits from another exam sometimes go looking for an FRM seat in the wrong system. The scheduling route that matters is the one GARP gives you after registration; going directly to a provider you assumed was correct is how people lose their preferred date.
Practical checklist
- Register with GARP first — scheduling opens through the provider only after registration.
- Confirm which provider covers your location before you start looking at dates.
- Book early. Seat availability at a given centre is finite, and Part I and Part II candidates compete for the same windows.
- Check ID and calculator rules on GARP's exam logistics page, not a provider's generic policy.
