Financial Risk Manager (FRM)

What actually changed in the FRM 2026 syllabus vs 2025?

Trying to figure out how different the frm 2026 syllabus really is from the 2025 one before I buy any materials. I've got some slightly older notes from a friend and I want to know if they're still usable or if the readings shifted enough to matter. Has anyone compared the two learning objective sets closely?

I'd just buy current-year question material even if you reuse old readings. The concepts persist but you want practice aligned to this year's LOs, not last year's phrasing.

Your friend's notes are probably 80-90% fine for the fundamentals, but check the areas that track evolving practice (operational/credit risk, some regulatory and current-issues readings) since those get the most tweaks. Don't rely on old notes for anything topical.

GARP tends to refresh the syllabus incrementally each year — a few readings swapped, learning objectives reworded, some current-risk topics updated — rather than wholesale rewrites. The core body of knowledge is stable year to year. For the exact reading list changes, pull GARP's official current-year curriculum and diff it against last year, that's the only reliable source.
